Amazing Day and the Weather was on our side this year!
2025 has been amazing! We had such a great turnout from not just the Procession Entries, The Window Entries, the Main Arena, and of course YOU the public! We couldn’t have done it without you all – Thank you for coming out in your 1000’s!
We’re preparing ALREADY for 2026’s Carnival – And we’ve got bigger and Brighter Plans to bring you all!

The charity was thrilled when we received the news that FaNs would be the 2026 Braintree Carnival Charity.
Having been a Braintree resident all of my life, the carnival is always one of the first days marked on the calendar and one of the most anticipated! We are so honoured to have this opportunity and the exposure and funding it will provide such a boost for us.
We are all really looking forward to participating in the one day of the year when the people of Braintree truly come together!
My Home Life Essex Community Association – the charity behind FaNs Network
The people living in care homes have a lifetime of experience, wisdom and contribution behind them. They are the people that raised families, built businesses, served their communities and in many cases served their country. They deserve so much more than an existence defined by loneliness and disconnection and have earned the right to age with dignity and remain part of the community.
This is what we at Fans fight for everyday in a very difficult charity sector, which is why the Carnival’s support really means so much to literally thousands of care home residents in Braintree and throughout Essex.
We aim to achieve our objectives by working with care homes in the Braintree, Maldon and Tendering districts by a number of initiatives such as
-Walk and Talks (where care home residents come together for coffee and a stroll)
-Grandfriends Days (where local nursery schools regularly visit the residents),
-Bake offs (where care homes come together and are judged on their culinary creations),
-Christmas Present delivery (in 2025 we delivered circa 2,000 Christmas presents to care home residents)
-Seated chair exercise
-Our unique ‘Wishing Washing Line’ aims to grant residents wishes. For example, we have recently presented a resident with an old fashioned type writer and once organised for a resident to meet Tom Jones!

WOW - Another Great Season
What a fantastic 2025-2026 Season the court had
It was an emotional send off for our Queen Olivia as she steps down from Carnival Queen Duties to pass onto our new Court Selection.
Some beautiful speeches were heard at our crowning dance on 20th February at Jardins – East Street, Braintree and we welcomed the new Court Selection
